The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially released the List of Candidates Provisionally Allotted under CRP-RRBs-XIV – Officer Scale-I on 23 March 2026. This marks a major milestone for thousands of aspirants who appeared for the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks (CRP-RRBs-XIV) targeting Probationary Officer (PO) posts in 2026.
IBPS RRB PO 2026 Provisional Allotment
IBPS RRB PO (Officer Scale-I) is one of the most sought-after entry-level officer positions in India’s 43 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). These banks play a vital role in rural and semi-urban financial inclusion, offering candidates a stable government job with attractive perks, career growth, and the chance to serve grassroots communities. The CRP-RRBs-XIV cycle, notified in September 2025, is now in its final stage, with provisional allotment out for Officer Scale-I.
CRP-RRBs-XIV
The Common Recruitment Process for RRBs (CRP-RRBs-XIV) is conducted annually by IBPS on behalf of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and participating Regional Rural Banks. The 14th edition (XIV) was launched with the official notification on 1 September 2025, following a window notification on 31 August 2025. Updated vacancy notifications and corrigenda were issued in September 2025 to reflect the latest requirements from RRBs.
Table of Contents
ToggleOfficer Scale-I (Probationary Officer) falls under Group “A” cadre. The selection process is rigorous and multi-tiered:
- Phase I: Online Preliminary Examination (November/December 2025) – Objective test (Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English/Hindi).
- Phase II: Online Main Examination (December 2025/January 2026) – Covers Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English/Hindi, and Computer Knowledge.
- Phase III: Common Interview (January/February 2026) – Coordinated by Nodal RRBs with NABARD and IBPS support.
- Final Stage: Provisional Allotment (February/March 2026) – Based on combined marks of Main Exam + Interview, merit, state preference, reservation policy, and actual vacancies reported by RRBs.
Provisional allotment for Officer Scale-I is restricted to the RRB of the State/UT opted by the candidate during application. Unlike Scale-II and III (which allow all-India preference), Scale-I allotment is state-specific. This ensures candidates serve in their home state or opted region, aligning with the rural banking mandate

What Does “Provisionally Allotted” Mean?
Provisional allotment is not a final appointment letter. It is an offer of posting to a specific Regional Rural Bank based on:
- Your combined merit (Main + Interview marks)
- State/UT preference filled during application
- Category-wise reservation (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen)
- Administrative exigencies and actual vacancies
Once allotted, you will receive an intimation from IBPS/Nodal Bank. The concerned RRB will then contact you for Document Verification (DV), medical examination, and character verification. Only after successful completion of these formalities will you receive the final offer of appointment and joining letter.
Important: The allotment is provisional because it is subject to verification of eligibility, caste/income certificates, and medical fitness. Any discrepancy can lead to cancellation.
The Reserve List: Your Safety Net
Along with the provisional allotment list released on 23 March 2026, IBPS maintains a Reserve List (approximately 20% of vacancies per category/post, subject to candidate availability). Candidates in the reserve list are not allotted immediately but remain eligible for future vacancies that may arise between April 2026 and March 2027.
The reserve list expires automatically without notice on the day one year after the provisional allotment date. IBPS may conduct 3-4 rounds of additional allotments if participating RRBs report fresh vacancies. However:
- Being in the reserve list does not guarantee allotment.
- IBPS is not responsible if RRBs do not report sufficient vacancies.
- Candidates not in the provisional allotment list or reserve list are out of the CRP-RRBs-XIV process for 2025-26 vacancies.
If your name does not appear in either list, you may consider reapplying in the next cycle (CRP-RRBs-XV expected in 2026) or exploring other banking exams like IBPS PO, SBI PO, or RBI Grade B.

Important Instructions & Common Pitfalls to Avoid
- Allotment once made is final and binding. No request for change of bank or state will be entertained.
- IBPS has no role after allotment; all queries must go to the allotted RRB only.
- Submit genuine documents only. Any suppression or falsification leads to permanent debarment.
- Keep original certificates safe; banks may retain them temporarily.
Career Prospects After Joining as IBPS RRB PO
As an Officer Scale-I, you start at a basic pay of approximately ₹36,000–₹38,000 (plus DA, HRA, and special allowances). In-hand salary in the first year ranges between ₹50,000–₹55,000 depending on posting. After successful probation, you can rise to Scale-II, III, and even senior management roles. RRBs offer job security, pension benefits under NPS, medical facilities, and opportunities in digital banking, microfinance, and rural development.
