Mode of Selection for Railway Apprentice Vacancy Pragraj
Step | Mode of Selection |
---|---|
Selection Process | The selection of eligible applicants for training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on a merit list. This list is formulated by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by applicants in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examinations. Equal weightage is given to both assessments. |
Shortlisting Criteria | Shortlisted candidates will undergo document/certificate verification, extending to 1.5 times the notified vacancies. |
Tie-Breaking Rule | In cases of two applicants having the same marks, preference will be given to the older applicant. If the dates of birth are also the same, priority will be granted to the applicant who passed the matriculation exam earlier. No written test or viva will be conducted. |
Final Merit List Preparation | The final merit list will be prepared unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise. It will be equal to the number of slots, arranged in descending order of the percentage of marks obtained by each candidate. |
Document Submission Process | Applicants are not required to send any copies of applications, certificates, or documents to RRC-NCR by post. Instead, they should upload the same online. |
Calculation of Marks Apprentice NCR Prayagraj
Step | Calculation of Marks |
---|---|
SSC/Matriculation Marks | For calculating the percentage of SSC/Matriculation marks, consider the total marks of all subjects mentioned in the mark sheet. Include all subjects, such as optional, additional, alternate subjects, etc. Convert CGPA to actual marks, and applicants must enter this in the online application. Note that the final score is the sum of marks from all subjects, not just a group of subjects. |
ITI Marks | To calculate the percentage of ITI marks, take the average marks from the consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the applied trade. Consider the marks mentioned in the Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT, and duly enter this in the online application. |
Discrepancy Handling | Applicants must ensure that the marks/CGPA entered in the online application match the original mark sheet/certificate. Any discrepancy found during document verification will result in the summary rejection of the applicant’s candidature. |
Merit List Issuance | NCR will issue the trade-wise/community-wise merit list for their notified slots. Applicants will be called based on merit in the relevant trade, considering the divisions/workshops chosen by the candidate. If there’s a shortfall in a particular trade in any division/workshop, NCR reserves the right to redistribute candidates to other divisions/workshops. |
Final Selection | The final selection is subject to the verification of original testimonials and a Medical Fitness Certificate as per Annexure “H”. |
Standby List | Candidates in the standby list will receive call letters based on details of absentees, medically unfit, and rejected candidates from the merit list allocated to the concerned divisions/workshop. Call letters will be issued strictly in order of merit. |
Tentative Schedule | The tentative schedule will be uploaded on the website www.rrcpryj.org considering the prevailing pandemic situation. Applicants are advised to be prepared at short notice for documents/certificate verification. |
