Eligibility Criteria for IBPS Clerk 9

To be eligible for IBPS Clerk 9, candidates must fulfill certain criteria set by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). The eligibility criteria include the following:

  1. Nationality:
    • The candidate must be a citizen of India or hold citizenship of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before January 1, 1962.
    • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India is also eligible.
  2. Age Limit:
    • The minimum age requirement is 20 years, and the maximum age limit is 28 years.
    • Age relaxation is provided for certain categories as per government norms. The relaxation in the upper age limit is as follows:
      • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years
      • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
      • Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years
      • Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service rendered in the defense forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) or the maximum age limit, whichever is lower
      • Widows, divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried: Up to 35 years (for General), 38 years (for OBC), and 40 years (for SC/ST)
  3. Educational Qualification:
    • The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.
    • Proficiency in the local language of the state or union territory for which the candidate is applying is essential.
    • Knowledge of computer operation and familiarity with working on computers is desirable.

It is important for candidates to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying for IBPS Clerk 9. Any candidate who does not meet the specified criteria may be disqualified at any stage of the selection process.
