CBSE CTET to be held on Jan 31, 2021: The CBSE CTET 2020 exam date has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The CTET 2020 examination, which was initially scheduled to be held in July this year but postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic, will now be held on January 31, 2021. The CTET examination was earlier scheduled to be held in 112 cities across the country, but now under the new arrangement made by the Union Ministry of Education, this examination will be conducted in 135 cities across the country.

As noted in the notice, CBSE CTET 2020 was originally scheduled to take place in the month of July this year, but had to be postponed due to some “administrative reasons”. It further reads that to conduct CBSE CTET 2020, the 14th edition of the exam in the current epidemic-hit world, the number of exam cities has been increased from 112 to 135.

Before this Coronavirus, The Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) and the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) were to be postponed thrice in 2020. However, both these exams were held in late 2020 despite delays.

This year, the JEE Advanced 2021 exam will be conducted on July 3 in CBT mode. In view of Coronavirus Epidemic, this year the eligibility criteria for getting 75 percent marks in class 12 has been removed for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The JEE Main examinations will be held in February, March, April and May this year. According to the official schedule, the first session of the JEE Main Examination will be held between 23 and 26 February 2021.

CBSE mentioned that they are now open to receiving requests from various applicants for changes in the examination city. This was done because many candidates had to change their location in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The CBSE CTET 2020 Exam City Change Window will be open from November 7 to November 16 at 11.59 pm. The notice mentions that although CBSE will try to accommodate candidates in their preferred cities, they can be allotted any other city besides this. Primary Stage (Class I to V):

  • 10+2 (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • +2 (or it’s equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE 2002 Norms OR
  • +2 (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR

  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE Norms OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
