Relaxation in the upper age limit is contingent upon the condition that the applicant’s maximum age on the crucial date does not exceed 55 years.

Selection Criteria AP Postal Circle GDS BPM Recruitment
- Automatic Merit List:
- Selection will be based on the automatically generated merit list derived from candidates’ online submissions, following the rules outlined in the Directorate Order.
- Educational Qualification Weightage:
- No additional weightage is given for higher educational qualifications. The selection criterion relies solely on the marks obtained in the 10th standard from approved Boards, aggregated to an accuracy of 4 decimals.
- Marks and Grades Clarification:
- Candidates with both marks and grades must apply with marks only to avoid disqualification. Marks will be calculated by converting grades using a multiplication factor (9.5) against the maximum points or grade (100).
- Merit Order in Case of Tie:
- In case of tied marks, merit order considers factors such as Date of Birth (higher age as merit), followed by categories like ST female, SC female, OBC female, EWS female, UR female, ST Male, SC Male, OBC male, EWS male, UR male.
- Application Limit:
- Candidates can apply for a maximum of twenty posts per online engagement cycle, including vacancies in their Home Circle. However, only one post will be offered for each Circle if multiple applications are submitted.
- Forfeiture Rules:
- If a candidate opts for multiple posts and is selected for more than one, the post in order of preference will be offered, and the remaining choices forfeited. In case a candidate joins any selected post, offers for remaining choices are automatically forfeited.
- Application Rejection Criteria:
- Applications lacking complete data will be rejected from consideration.
- Cycle of Notification:
- GDS vacancies will be notified by all circles multiple times in a year, each referred to as a cycle number.
- Incorrect document uploads or erroneous mark entries will lead to the non-consideration of the candidate.
- Selection Intimation:
- Candidates will receive an SMS on provisional selection, but this doesn’t guarantee regular selection/appointment. Final selection is contingent on the satisfactory verification of all documents by the recruiting authorities.
- Communication Protocol:
- The Department of Posts communicates with candidates solely through respective Recruiting Authorities. Candidates are cautioned against disclosing their registration numbers and mobile numbers to others.
