Validity Period of CTET Certificate
The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime for all categories. There are no limits on the number of attempts a candidate can make to acquire the certificate. Individuals who have already qualified can reappear to improve their scores.
Eligibility Criteria for CTET December 2025
Eligibility varies by teaching stage (primary or secondary). Ensure you meet the criteria before applying.
Primary Stage (Classes I to V)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE 2002 norms).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduated with 50% marks and a B.Ed (Bachelor of Education).
Secondary Stage (Classes VI to VIII)
- Bachelor’s degree and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma in elementary education (by whatever name known).
- Graduated with 50% marks and passed or appeared in a 1-year Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed.).
- Graduated with 45% marks and passed or appeared in a 1-year Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE norms.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.

How to Apply for CTET December 2025

- Visit the official CTET website: https://ctet.nic.in.
- Click on the “Apply Online” link.

- Upload your latest scanned photograph and signature.
- Pay the examination fee using a debit/credit card, net banking, or e-challan. Note that exam cities are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Check the portal for city capacity.
