SBI PO Educational Qualification (as of 31/12/2023)

To be eligible, the candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or hold an equivalent qualification acknowledged by the Central Government. Those currently in their final year/semester of graduation can also apply on a provisional basis. However, if invited for an interview, they must provide evidence of having successfully passed the graduation examination. For candidates with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate, the date of passing the IDD must align with the notification’s requirements. Additionally, individuals with a Chartered Accountant certification are eligible to apply.

Candidates must fall within the age range of 21 to 30 years, which means they should have been born between April 2, 1993, and April 1, 2002, inclusive of both dates.

The Selection Process

The SBI PO recruitment process comprises three main stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: This is the initial screening stage consisting of objective-type questions in English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
  2. Main Examination: The main exam assesses your knowledge of the English Language, Data Analysis and interpretation, Reasoning and computer Aptitude, and General/Economy/Banking Awareness. There’s also a descriptive paper to evaluate your writing skills.
  3. GD/Interview: Shortlisted candidates are invited for a group exercise and an interview. The final selection is based on your performance in the main exam and the interview.

Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination

This is an online examination where candidates are required to complete the question paper within a 1-hour time frame, with a total of 100 marks available. For each incorrect answer, a negative marking of ¼ marks is applicable. The SBI PO Prelims exam consists of three sections. It’s important to note that in the Preliminary Exam, there is no sectional cut-off anymore, and the overall score across all sections is considered for progression to the next round.
