– Candidates who have studied computer as a subject in Matriculation, class XII, or any higher educational level are exempted from this requirement. In such cases, a separate certificate is not mandatory.
VI. RESIDENCEThe condition of residence is governed by Rule 3-A (vii) of GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020.
For candidates applying for the post of BPM, providing accommodation for the Branch Post Office is mandatory after selection but before engagement.
The prescribed standards for accommodation include:
(i) Building OwnershipThe building may be owned by a Gram Panchayat, Central government, State government, school, offices, BPM’s own house, or proper rented accommodation in a busy place of the post village.
(ii) LocationThe Branch Office (BO) should be situated in the main busy part of the post village.
(iii) SizeThe minimum size of the Branch Post Office should not be less than 100 sq. feet, preferably in 10’x10’ dimensions, and on the ground floor.
(iv) ApproachThe Branch Post Office should have direct access/approach from the village road and be located in the front portion of the building. It should not be housed in verandahs, courtyards, kitchens, SPWC under the stairs, bedrooms, damaged rooms, or makeshift accommodations.
VII. Knowledge of CyclingKnowledge of cycling is a prerequisite for all GDS posts. Candidates with the ability to ride a scooter or motorcycle can declare this as cycling knowledge. The candidate must submit a declaration confirming this.
VIII. Adequate Means of LivelihoodCandidates applying for the post must have adequate means of livelihood from other sources to support themselves and their families.
